Hi guys, and thank you for reading.  The purpose of this is to help people bail themselves out of their own situations, not to committ crimes! This can help save you money during those unexpected situations that force you to call a locksmith and spend $150 to $300 or more on something you can do yourself. It can also help out other locksmiths that may be starting out in the business. 

This particular post will teach you how to open a bedroom door secured by a smart lock.

1) Kwikset smart locks: Did you lose your keys, or lock your keys inside a room secured by a kwikset smart lock? Unless your a master locksmith, there is no way to pick that lock. 

All you need is a thin flat-head screwdriver and pair of strong hands or vise-grips. 

First, you need to jam the flat-head screwdriver into to key hole as deep as you possibly can. Maybe hammer it in a little bit if you can. 

Theeeen.. you should be able to force it to the unlock position. I find it easier to just use my hands to force it over, but some people may need to use vise-grips. Very simple. 

The lock WILL need to be replaced, because you just destroyed it. But at least your not locked out anymore. And you just saved lots of money by doing it yourself!
