Insurance for Locksmiths

If you are a new locksmith starting out, it's vital that you take out Public Liability Insurance. You will need it if you are planning to sub-contract to a larger company, and your own customers will appreciate the peace of mind of using an insured tradesman.
A recent innovation is the ability to display your policy details on your website, if you purchase cover through Simply Business. Reassuring the public that you are covered will give you the edge over your competition.

If you have joined the Emergency Locksmith Now locksmith directory your Simply Business policy details can be added to your listing.

Example here: Nottingham Locksmith .

Northwood Locksmith

Secure Locksmith is a 24 hour domestic and commercial locksmith in Northwood, Ruislip and throughout Middlesex. Call Ray on 07939 699 481 to discuss your lock requirements.

Change Your Locks

Recently Moved House?

Around 7% of all burglaries are carried out by someone who has a key for the property. [Government Statistics]. Don't get caught out, there is no way of knowing how many keys to your property are out there.

I recently got called out to a house to because the UPVC back door wasn't locking. Chatting to the couple, they revealed they had only just moved in, and the previous elderly tenant had furnished all the neighbours with a key to the house! As the security implications of this dawned upon the new occupiers, I ended up changing all the locks while I was onsite.

The risks are even higher in student accomodation, due to the high turnover of tenants, and occasionally a less-than-scrupulous landlord. I have spoken to a young lady who once got out of the shower only to bump into her landlord on the landing. Student houses are also highly attractive to burglars due to the large amount of mobile phones, laptops, ipods etc.

If you have recently moved house, change the locks as soon as possible. Don't forget to use a reputable local locksmith.
